“And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for He who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6)
There are two commands in this verse that we must believe if we are please God:
a) That God is, and b) That God rewards those who seek Him.
If we come to God not believing that He exists, it is utter foolishness, for why would we strive to approach someone whom we believe not to be there? This type of coming to God does not please God. On the other hand, if we come to God not believing that He will reward us for our coming, we do not please God. So, in order to please God, we must believe these things. God is, and God rewards those that seek Him! Let us strive to Him, for He is our great reward!
